Technical description
The DELIE Electronic Control System (ECS) is the central nervous system of all input/output equipment in high-bay automated warehouses. It precisely controls and schedules the operations of logistics equipment through interaction with PLC protocols, and performs pallet-flow control on the conveyor line. The ECS executes the inbound and outbound tasks issued by the WCS, updating documents and inventory information in real time to guarantee data synchronization between hardware and software.
How it works
PLC control and pallet flow
The ECS interacts with the PLC communication protocols of each piece of equipment (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi) and controls the pallet flow on the conveyor line. It executes the tasks issued by the WCS with control latencies under 50 ms.
High-cohesion modular design
The ECS divides the equipment into independent modules of high cohesion and low coupling. This improves the overall efficiency and fault tolerance of the system: if a module fails, the rest of the system continues operating.
Multi-vehicle scheduling at PLC level
The ECS uses the PLC reliability and the punctuality of the underlying communication to complete the scheduling of multi-vehicle systems at PLC level, without depending on higher software layers for low-level coordination.

What is the difference between the ECS and the WCS?
The WCS (Warehouse Control System) operates at the level of missions and logistics flows: it decides which equipment moves which load and when. The ECS operates at the hardware level: it converts those instructions into concrete electrical signals for each motor, drive and sensor. The ECS is the lowest layer of the software stack.
Can the ECS work with PLCs from different brands?
Yes. The ECS adopts object-oriented programming (OOP) and abstracts the equipment into reusable classes, which allows applying the same programming approach on different PLC platforms (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi, Schneider).
