Technical description

The DELIE intelligent vertical lift module uses trays as the storage unit and performs automatic storage and retrieval of goods through the vertical lift and horizontal movement of the tray carrier. The equipment supports manual mode, independent automatic mode and online automatic mode, and connects seamlessly with ERP, MES, WMS and other management systems to achieve intelligent "goods-to-person" management. It saves up to 90% of space with equipment reaching up to 20 meters high, reducing picking time by 70% and labor costs by two-thirds.

How it works

01

Automatic tray storage

The operator places the items on the trays at the access window. The system records the contents and the shuttle deposits the tray in the optimal position according to the location algorithm, placing high-rotation items near the window to minimize retrieval time.

02

Goods-to-person picking

The operator enters the item code or order number. The VLM retrieves the corresponding tray and delivers it at the window in under 15 seconds. The "intelligent picking" mode reduces picking time by 70% versus manual picking on conventional racking.

03

Full integration and traceability

Compatible with ERP, MES and WMS via network connection. It supports barcode or RFID authentication for real-time monitoring and traceability. 99.9% inbound and outbound accuracy rate. Operable by a single person, with fully automatic selection and handling.

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions

How does the VLM differ from the vertical carousel?

The VLM uses a shuttle that goes directly to the required tray (random access). The carousel rotates sequentially to bring the correct tray. The VLM is faster for individual retrievals and manages a greater variety of trays. The carousel is more economical for more limited SKU volumes.

How much space does the VLM save versus conventional racking?

Up to 90% of floor space. A 10-meter-high VLM occupies 5–8 m² of surface and stores the equivalent of 30–50 m² of conventional racking. At heights of 15–20 meters, the ratio is even greater.

Can the VLM operate in temperature-controlled environments?

The VLM has versions for environments between 2°C and 25°C, ideal for pharma and refrigerated products. For negative cold (freezer), the shuttle robots of the DELIE AS/RS line are recommended.

How many operators can use the VLM simultaneously?

The standard model has one access window. Models with multiple windows allow simultaneous operation of 2 or more people. For high demand, 2 or more modules are installed in parallel. The VLM also supports high-frequency operation with multiple users, reducing waiting times.
